Join a Psilocybin Pilot Program for CRPS & Chronic Pain Relief
We are excited to share an opportunity for individuals to participate in a new pilot program exploring psilocybin-assisted therapy as a potential treatment for the chronic pain disorder called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and other chronic pain conditions. This program is being conducted through a partnership between Bendable Therapy and Cy Biopharma, which is fully funding the program.
The program offers a legal, supportive, and guided environment where eligible individuals can explore a promising new approach to managing CRPS-related and other chronic pain. Approved candidates will receive a comprehensive psilocybin therapy experience at no cost. Cy Biopharma will cover all expenses, including:
- Program fees for psilocybin services
- Round-trip travel to and from Bend, Oregon
- Lodging near the psilocybin service center in Bend, Oregon
What the Program Involves
If accepted, you’ll complete the following psilocybin program provided by Bendable Therapy:
- A virtual screening and orientation session
- Two preparation sessions with your facilitator, held virtually or in-person
- One in-person psilocybin session (6–8 hours) at Bendable Therapy
- Two integration sessions to help process your experience, held virtually or in-person
- Brief feedback interviews before and after the session
The entire program is structured to take place over 2 to 3 weeks. Preparation, integration, and feedback interviews are held remotely on your schedule. Plan for 3 to 4 days in Bend, Oregon for the psilocybin session.
We are currently seeking a small number of individuals with CRPS to participate. Other chronic pain conditions might be eligible and are considered on a case by case basis. Please click the button below to complete a brief form and take the first step:
What is CRPS?
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition that often develops after an injury, surgery, or trauma, though sometimes it occurs without a clear cause. It typically affects one limb (like an arm, leg, hand, or foot) but can spread to other areas. CRPS causes intense, burning pain that feels disproportionate to the initial injury, along with symptoms like:
- Swelling or stiffness in the affected area.
- Changes in skin color (red, blue, or mottled), temperature (hot or cold), or texture (shiny or thin).
- Sensitivity to touch or cold, where even light contact feels painful.
- Muscle weakness, tremors, or difficulty moving the limb.
What is Psilocybin, and Why Investigate It?
Psilocybin is a natural compound found in certain mushrooms. Emerging research suggests it may help with chronic pain, depression, and other conditions by changing how the brain processes pain and emotions. Thanks to Oregon’s psilocybin program (Measure 109), we can now explore this treatment in a safe, supervised setting. This pilot program is a first step to see if psilocybin-assisted therapy could help people with CRPS feel better.
All psilocybin products used in this program are 100% natural and derived from psilocybin containing mushrooms.
What’s Involved in the Pilot Program?
If you join the program, you’ll:
- Work with a team of trained professionals in a supportive environment.
- Receive legal psilocybin during carefully guided therapy sessions.
- Participate in screenings and follow-up visits to track your pain, mood, and overall well-being.
The program is designed to be safe and comfortable, with your care and safety as the top priorities.
